Storozhynetsk urban territorial community of Chernivtsi district of Chernivtsi region unites 17 settlements. The population of the community is 41,964 inhabitants. Storozhynetsk MTG is one of the largest communities of Chernivtsi region both in terms of area and population. One of the 17 settlements of the community is the village of Stara Zhadova (Starozhadovo starostynsky district (4,224 inhabitants), which includes the villages of Dibrivka, Kosovanka, Nova Zhadova and Stara Zhadova), where 2,553 inhabitants live. One of the largest educational institutions of the community is the main institution Starozhadovo Lyceum, which has 396 children studying, 70 teaching staff and 35 other employees.
In the 2024/2025 academic year, a shelter for participants in the educational process with a capacity of 200 places will operate at the Starozhadiv Lyceum Support Institution, which allows for simultaneous shelter for only 50% of students, teaching staff, and technical and support staff. Due to the lack of places in the institution's civil defense building to shelter all participants in the educational process, the Starozhadiv Lyceum Support Institution is organized in a mixed form. By the decision of the XXXIX extraordinary session of the VIII convocation of the Storozhynets City Council dated 04/12/2024 No. 74-39/2024 "On approval of the Plan for the formation of a network of senior classes and the implementation of specialized education in educational institutions of the Storozhynets City Council of the Chernivtsi district of the Chernivtsi region for 2024-2027", the base institution Starozhadiv Lyceum is planned to be reorganized into the Starozhadiv Specialized Lyceum with a branch, gymnasium, primary school and preschool unit. As a result of the introduction of specialized education from 01.09.2026, the Starozhadiv Specialized Lyceum will also include more than 80-90 students in grades 5-9 of the Dibriv Gymnasium and the Starozhadiv Gymnasium branch and more than 100 students in grades 10-11 of nearby educational institutions, which will lead to a significant increase in the number of teaching staff and technical and service personnel and will make it impossible, taking into account the security situation, to provide shelter for even 30% of participants in the educational process and organize the educational process both in full-time and in a mixed form. Therefore, in order to introduce high-quality specialized secondary education, the construction of a shelter in the Supporting Institution Starozhadiv Lyceum is a necessity in today's conditions. Currently, the working project "Construction of a shelter for the main institution of the Starozhadiv Lyceum of the Storozhynets City Council, Chernivtsi district, Chernivtsi region at the address: 24A Shevchenko St., Stara Zhadova village, Chernivtsi district, Chernivtsi region" has been developed and its adjustments have been made (in current prices as of 04/17/2024).
