General information
Description of the project
Creating nuclear fuel and its elements production capacities in Ukraine through cooperation with other countries is the main goal of the state targeted economic program "Nuclear Fuel of Ukraine" and a number of government decisions adopted to implement this program.
Organizing nuclear fuel production will reduce the risks of providing Ukrainian nuclear power plants with nuclear fuel, ensure the development of domestic production, preserve and create new jobs, and increase revenues to budgets of all levels.
The Technological Complex for the Production of Fuel Assemblies Using Westinghouse Technology (hereinafter - TKVTVZ) - is a nuclear fuel manufacturing enterprise that performs operations to assemble fuel assemblies (FAs) from ready-made components and fuel rods (FWs). The TKVTVZ product is a fuel assembly completely ready for shipment to a nuclear power plant.

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it
The creation of capacities in Ukraine for the production of nuclear fuel and its elements through cooperation with other countries is the main goal of the state targeted economic program "Nuclear Fuel of Ukraine" and a number of government decisions adopted to implement this program.
The organization of nuclear fuel production will reduce the risks of providing Ukrainian NPPs with nuclear fuel, ensure the development of domestic production, preserve and create new jobs, and increase revenues to budgets of all levels.
The technological complex (nuclear installation) for the production of fuel assemblies using Westinghouse technology (hereinafter referred to as the TKVTVZ) is a nuclear fuel manufacturing enterprise where operations are performed to assemble fuel assemblies (FAs) from ready-made components and fuel rods (FWs). The TKVTVZ product is a fuel assembly completely ready for shipment to a NPP.
The TKVTVZ is expected to perform the following technological operations:
• reception and temporary storage of components for fuel rod frames;
• reception and temporary storage of fuel rods and fuel rods;
• assembly of frames from components;
• assembly of fuel assemblies, control, preparation for shipment, temporary storage and shipment of finished products to the relevant NPP.
Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation
The organization of nuclear fuel production will reduce the risks of providing Ukrainian nuclear power plants with nuclear fuel, ensure the development of domestic production, preserve and create new jobs, and increase revenues to budgets of all levels.

Це дуже важливо для досягнення цілей вуглецевої нейтральності та боротьби зі зміною клімату. Проєкт відповідає національним і міжнародним зобов’язанням України в рамках Паризької кліматичної угоди, стратегії низьковуглецевого розвитку України до 2050 та Європейського зеленого курсу.
