General information

Description of the project

The project involves the purchase and  installation of solar power plants for educational institutions in the city of Dnipro. The goal is to increase energy independence and reliability of energy supply. Solar power plants will ensure the operation of critical systems of educational institutions in conditions of a complete power outage from the network. (shelter, fire and security alarms, Internet, ventilation, lighting). The integration of solar power plants into the existing infrastructure will contribute to the stability of energy supply to educational institutions, reduce budget costs and reduce the negative impact on the environment.

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Introducing innovations and energy-efficient solutions

Secondary Goal:

Increasing the even distribution of resources, Improving the condition of infrastructure, Improving the quality of services

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The proposed project allows educational institutions to obtain: - independence in electricity supply - provides independence from unstable electricity supply from the network; - stability - will ensure the availability of electricity under any conditions and at any time of the year; - continuity - will ensure uninterrupted operation of devices necessary for teachers to conduct online lessons; - control - will help control the level of electricity consumption. The following equipment is required to implement this project: - photovoltaic modules that convert sunlight into electricity; - an inverter that converts direct current into alternating current; - batteries that accumulate electricity - mounts that help securely fix photovoltaic modules to the roof or to a ground structure. An autonomous solar power plant is the main or additional source of electricity. Solar radiation is not constant, so the generation of electricity from photovoltaic modules does not always correspond to its consumption. To accumulate excess electricity and use it in cases where consumption exceeds production, rechargeable batteries are used. Connecting photovoltaic panels directly to batteries for charging is unacceptable. This can lead to their damage, and as a result - failure. It is to protect batteries from overcharging and to maintain optimal operation that a charge controller is used. Since most electricity consumers use alternating current, and photovoltaic panels and batteries produce direct current, there is a need to convert the current from direct to alternating. This function is performed by an inverter. If it is necessary to connect a DC load, it can be connected directly to the output terminals of the charge controller.
