General information

Description of the project

The project aims to increase the energy efficiency and reliability of the Zvyagel city drainage system by installing a 400 kW solar power plant with an energy storage system with a capacity of
800 kWh at the sewage pumping station of the municipal enterprise "Zvyagelvodokanal". This station is responsible for pumping wastewater to treatment plants.

The project involves the implementation of a modern monitoring and analytics system for the operation of the solar power plant, which provides continuous collection, processing and visualization of data on electricity generation and consumption, the level of self-consumption, the operation of batteries and modes of interaction with the power grid.

The implementation of the project will ensure the uninterrupted functioning of critical infrastructure during peak loads and emergency shutdowns, reduce electricity consumption from the network and the company's costs, and increase the efficiency of balancing energy consumption. The initiative will help strengthen the city's energy sustainability, reduce CO₂ emissions and increase resource efficiency, making a significant contribution to achieving the community's climate and socio-economic goals.

The project has been prepared for participation in the competitive selection for the Solar Backup for Critical Infrastructure project, which is being carried out with the support of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The potential cooperation will ensure the attraction of funding, international expertise and compliance with EU environmental standards. Thanks to this, the initiative has a comprehensive impact: it strengthens the city's energy sustainability, helps reduce CO₂ emissions, increases resource efficiency and makes a significant contribution to achieving the community's climate and socio-economic goals.

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Introducing innovations and energy-efficient solutions

Secondary Goal:

Contribution to climate or environmental goals, Improving the condition of infrastructure

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

To implement innovative and energy-efficient solutions, increase the reliability of the wastewater pumping station, and optimize electricity costs, it is planned to install a 400 kW solar power plant with an 800 kWh energy storage system. The project will reduce electricity consumption from the grid, reduce the company's costs, improve the state of the infrastructure, and reduce CO₂ emissions, which makes a significant contribution to the community's climate and environmental goals.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The sewage pumping station of the municipal enterprise "Zvyagelvodokanal" is critically important for the city's water drainage, but it is completely dependent on electricity supply from the network, which creates risks during emergency shutdowns or peak loads. The lack of renewable energy sources leads to high electricity costs and low energy efficiency of the enterprise. In addition, the existing infrastructure does not provide monitoring and analysis of electricity consumption, which complicates the effective management of energy resources. The project implementation involves the installation of a 400 kW solar power plant with an energy storage system with a capacity of 800 kWh, which will ensure uninterrupted operation of the station even during emergency shutdowns. The use of renewable energy will reduce electricity consumption from the network and reduce the enterprise's costs, increasing economic efficiency. The implementation of a monitoring and analytics system will ensure the collection and processing of data on the generation, consumption and operation of battery cells, which will allow for effective management of energy resources and a gradual scale-up of the project. As a result of the initiative, greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced, the city's energy sustainability will be strengthened, and the environmental and socio-economic efficiency of the wastewater system will be increased.

[Response was provided in the Preliminary Investment Feasibility Study]

What procurement strategy was chosen for the project implementation, and what justifies its feasibility in the context of the market and project objectives?

[Response was provided in the Investment Feasibility Study]

What approaches are planned to be used to ensure transparency, competition, and efficiency in the procurement process?

Pre-market engagement

Potential market participants

[Response was provided in the Investment Feasibility Study]

Market readiness assessment
