General information

Description of the project

An apartment building that suffered significant damage as a result of military operations and is subject to major repairs is located at 241 Druzhby Narodiv Street (Sobornosti Ukrainy) in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv.
As a result of the impact of the weapons, the building suffered the following damage:
- destruction and significant damage to external and internal wall panels, floor slabs, partitions, balcony fences, ventilation blocks;
- damage and destruction of the roll roof;
- damage to the entrance group structures;
- destruction and damage to floors, doors, windows and glazing of loggias;
- damage to the blind area;
- destruction in some apartments of internal networks and devices of heating systems, cold and hot water supply, electricity supply, sewage and gas supply.
The detailed design provides for the following restoration solutions:
- dismantling of the remains of destroyed structures and structures with significant damage (internal load-bearing and external non-load-bearing wall panels, floor slabs, partitions, ventilation blocks, balcony fences, window frames, doors);
- dismantling of the rolled roof and covering structures on the technical floor;
- installation of monolithic reinforced concrete floor slabs;
- installation of  monolithic reinforced concrete internal load-bearing transverse walls and side load-bearing walls of loggias;
- installation of load-bearing brick walls;
- installation of  external fencing made of aerated concrete blocks;
- reinforcement of structures;
- restoration of entrance groups;
- installation of new partitions on the site of the destroyed and dismantled ones; 
- installation of prefabricated reinforced concrete ventilation blocks;
- installation of prefabricated reinforced concrete round hollow panels of the technical floor ceiling;
- installation of loggia fencing;
- installation of insulation: on the ceiling of the 9th floor; facades, including external window slopes and external loggia fencing; external surfaces of the machine room walls and under the basement ceiling;
- cleaning from soot and restoring with a repair solution the surfaces of floor slabs, partitions, internal and external wall panels with minor damage;
- installation of a new roll roof, insulation coating;
- installation of water intake funnels;
- repair and restoration of damaged elevator equipment in elevator shafts and machine rooms;
- replacement of all windows with double-glazed windows in metal-plastic frames;
- installation of doors;
- painting of external walls with facade paints over a layer of decorative plaster;
- restoration of damaged blind areas.
The implementation of the project will ensure the restoration of damaged housing stock, the return of residents to their own homes and improvement of living conditions. The project meets the requirements of energy efficiency, social needs of the community, increases safety and comfort, contributes to the restoration of the community and meets the strategic goals of the state, and has high social significance.

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The indicator of achieving the project goal is the implementation of measures to increase the efficiency and reliability of operation, ensure sustainable development to meet the needs of the population and the economic complex in housing and communal services in accordance with established regulations and national standards. The purpose of the major overhaul of the building is to achieve an operationally suitable condition and ensure safety during its operation. Design solutions for the major overhaul of a damaged multi-apartment residential building are provided without changing the geometric dimensions and functional purpose of the object, with intervention in the load-bearing and enclosing systems, with the replacement or restoration of destroyed or damaged structures with the implementation of thermal modernization measures.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

Problem: As a result of hostilities and shelling, an apartment building was damaged. There is damage to the load-bearing and enclosing structures, the extent and nature of which indicates the need to carry out work on the partial dismantling of parts of the object or its individual structures, strengthening the object or its individual load-bearing and enclosing structures. Solution: Emergency restoration work (overhaul) of an apartment building to achieve an operationally suitable condition and ensure safety during its operation.
