Description of the project
Waste collection, processing and disposal are important conditions for creating a healthy environment for the existence of a settlement. In this case, the following measures must be taken:
- Installation of anti-filtration screens.
- Waste isolation.
- Surface water drainage and leachate collection and treatment systems.
- Biogas collection and disposal, its further economic use.

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it
Prevention and elimination of the negative impact of waste on the environment; protection against pollution of groundwater and surface waters; prevention of spontaneous combustion of waste and pollution of atmospheric air; prevention of the spread of infectious diseases by birds, rodents, insects; cleaning of the soil of the territory adjacent to the MSW landfill.

Collection and drainage of biogas, its further economic use.
Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation
The landfill for solid household waste in the city of Zvyagel is 70% full.
Project implementation results:
- Increasing the level of satisfaction of community residents with the quality of services in the field of waste management;
- Reducing the negative impact on the environment and public health as a result of unsystematic disposal of household waste;
- Eliminating unauthorized landfills in the city;
- Preventing cases of spontaneous combustion of waste and air pollution;
- Reducing the spread of infectious diseases by birds, rodents, and insects through mechanical and chemical neutralization of household waste.
