General information

Description of the project

The project provides for the installation of 6 kV frequency converters to control the speed of electric motors of technological units. In the containers with VFD, cells with a vacuum circuit breaker and disconnectors for direct start and start via VFD are located. According to the project, it is necessary to lay cable lines from the 6 kV VFD to the VFD and from the VFD to the technological units.

The purpose of the project

Main goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Secondary goal:

Capacity building, Improving the equality of wealth distribution, Improving the condition of infrastructure

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

Comprehensive reconstruction and automation of the hydraulic system of the facility in Kharkiv by implementing high-voltage frequency regulation (6 kV VFD).

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

Key problems and their relevance: The main problem is the critical technical wear of the existing equipment of the distribution point (insulators, circuit breakers, current transformers) and the use of outdated direct start of electric motors. This is relevant now, since CHP-3 is a critical infrastructure facility that provides heat supply to Kharkiv, and the existing scheme does not allow for effective control of hydraulic modes and does not meet modern energy efficiency standards. Possible consequences of not solving the problems: • Emergency situations: High risk of failure of worn-out components, which can lead to a shutdown of the city's heat supply. • Energy losses: Constant overspending of electricity due to the inability to regulate the power of the units in accordance with the actual load. • Lack of control: Inability to integrate the facility into modern digital monitoring systems, which complicates the prompt response to incidents. Expected positive changes: • Energy efficiency: Installation of frequency converters (VFD) will allow smooth adjustment of engine speed, significantly reducing electricity consumption. • Reliability: Complete renewal of switching equipment and secondary circuits will minimize the risk of technical failures. • Digitalization: Thanks to the introduction of microprocessor protection and data transmission devices, the station will be integrated into the SCADA system, which will provide remote control and monitoring in real time. • Technological flexibility: Optimization of the operation of the CHP hydraulic circuit in accordance with the modern needs of the heating network.
