Description of the project

The project involves the reconstruction of railway infrastructure, namely: railway tracks and switches, roadbed, reconstruction of centralization and blocking signaling devices, communications, contact network, as well as the reconstruction of existing artificial structures on the site.

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The implementation of the specified infrastructure project will significantly reduce the load on highways, optimize logistics costs, increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian products on European markets and ensure environmentally balanced development of the Transcarpathian region. At the same time, the implementation of this project will contribute to the improvement of railway connections, increasing the throughput capacity between Ukraine and the countries of the European Union.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

Lack of a railway network of the European standard of 1435 mm, non-compliance of the existing railway infrastructure with European Union standards. Reconstruction of the existing railway infrastructure in accordance with EU standards. The project will lead to improvement of freight and potentially passenger transportation across the border of Ukraine, in particular, reducing the time required for technical processing of trains between Ukraine and EU countries and, thus, increasing cross-border throughput.
