General information

Description of the project

The project is aimed at providing part of the own needs of the electric depot of the Dnipro Metro Commune by installing a solar generation system with a total capacity of 2000 kW. The implementation of the project will reduce the company's electricity costs, increase the energy efficiency of economic activities and reduce the load on the city's power system during peak consumption periods. The installation of solar panels will also contribute to a more rational use of resources and the formation of a stable energy balance of the enterprise. The importance of this project lies in increasing the energy sustainability of critical urban infrastructure and reducing dependence on external sources of energy supply, especially in conditions of energy risks and possible interruptions. The use of renewable energy sources corresponds to state and local strategies in the field of energy efficiency, climate policy and sustainable development, and also demonstrates the community's desire for rational, environmentally friendly management.

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Introducing innovations and energy-efficient solutions

Secondary Goal:

Contribution to climate or environmental goals, Increasing compliance with modern standards, Improving the condition of infrastructure

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The project aims to increase the energy autonomy and efficiency of the enterprise through the use of renewable energy sources. The project aims to ensure sustainable and economically viable energy supply for the electric depot’s own needs. This will reduce electricity consumption from the city grid, reduce the enterprise’s operating costs, and optimize the energy balance during periods of increased load. The project also aims to strengthen the energy resilience of the city’s infrastructure in crisis conditions, in particular at the risk of interruptions in centralized energy supply. The installation of solar power plants will contribute to achieving the city’s goals in the field of energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting the use of renewable energy sources at municipal enterprises. Thus, the project combines economic feasibility with the social and environmental responsibility of the community.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The main problems that the project implementation should solve are the high level of energy consumption of the enterprise, dependence on centralized electricity supply and the lack of its own sources of energy generation. Due to the increase in tariffs, the increasing load on the power grid and the risks of power outages, the enterprise faces constant financial and technical challenges. The relevance of these problems is increased in conditions of martial law, when the energy infrastructure of Ukraine is under threat of attacks and disruptions in the supply of electricity can be systemic. The implementation of the project will ensure partial energy autonomy of the electric depot, reduce electricity consumption from the city network, stabilize the costs of the enterprise and reduce the risks of downtime due to power outages. The installation of solar power plants will contribute to reducing operating costs, increasing the energy efficiency of buildings, improving the environmental performance of the enterprise and creating a positive example of the implementation of "green" technologies in the municipal sector.
