General information

Description of the project

Construction and commissioning of new highly maneuverable generating capacities of the Dniester PSPP of 648 MW (two 324 MW hydropower units) in generator mode and 842 MW (two 421 MW hydropower units) in pumping mode

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Поява нових виробничих потужностей

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The purpose of the project is to purchase 2 hydroelectric units to achieve the following goals: increasing the reliability and flexibility of the Unified Energy System of Ukraine by creating a mobile emergency reserve, creating a regulation reserve for connecting renewable energy generation, regulating frequency and active power during the operation of the Unified Energy System of Ukraine in the European ENTSO-E network, as well as creating conditions for the full use of the potential of renewable energy in Ukraine, construction and commissioning of new highly maneuverable generating capacities of the Dniester PSPP of 648 MW (two hydroelectric units of 324 MW each) in generator mode and 842 MW (two hydroelectric units of 421 MW each) in pump mode

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

Systemic effect of the project implementation: solving the problem of the shortage of shunting capacities in the Unified Power System of Ukraine, regulating the uneven generation of "green" energy, generating valuable peak electricity, operating the Unified Power System of Ukraine in the pan-European ENTSO-E power system in terms of frequency and active power regulation requirements
