Description of the project
The project involves the reconstruction of the "Central" boiler house with the installation of modular and containerized cogeneration units manufactured by JENBACHER and the replacement of existing pumping equipment with the introduction of an automated heat supply system using frequency converters for pump motors at the address: 53 Rudna St. in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region.
What problems does the project solve:
Low energy efficiency of the existing system: The traditional boiler house produces only thermal energy, while electricity is purchased from outside at market rates.
High dependence on external electricity supply: In conditions of unstable operation of the power system, there is a risk of heat supply being stopped due to a power outage. Increasing tariff burden Increasing the cost of electricity and natural gas increases the costs of the enterprise and end consumers.
Equipment wear and tear: Some of the existing equipment is morally and physically obsolete, which leads to increased energy losses and operating costs.
Low level of community energy security: The lack of local generation reduces the resilience of the heat supply system in crisis situations.
Expected results
✅ Increasing the energy efficiency of the boiler room.
✅ Reducing the cost of purchasing electricity.
✅ Ensuring partial or full autonomy of electricity supply.
✅ Reducing CO₂ emissions and specific fuel consumption.
✅ Increasing the reliability of heat supply to residential buildings and social infrastructure.
✅ Reducing maintenance and repair costs equipment.
Given the geographical location and density of the district, the boiler house "Central" has no alternative sources of reserve of such capacity. The implementation of the CHP is the most rational technical and economic solution that combines investments in energy efficiency with measures for civil protection and security of the community of Kryvyi Rih.

Demand for the service and its dynamics
What methodology was used to estimate demand?
Has data from external sources been used in the demand assessment?
Does the demand forecast take into account the latest demographic and economic forecasts?
Analysis of the project's impact on ecology and climate change
Does the planned activity have a potential positive contribution to achieving climate or environmental objectives?
Is the proposed project expected to significantly harm any of the following climate or environmental objectives?
Does the planned activity have a potential positive contribution to achieving climate or environmental objectives?
Is the proposed project expected to significantly harm any of the following climate or environmental objectives?
Have the greenhouse gas emissions or emission reductions (Scope 1-2) associated with the project been calculated for a typical year and the entire project period?
Does the project require an environmental impact assessment (EIA) in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Environmental Impact Assessment"?
Project sustainability and inclusivity
Identify potential gender risks of the project and indicate possible ways to overcome them:
Does the project provide for improving women's access to services?
Are civil society organizations representing women and vulnerable groups included in the consultation process?
Were consultations held with representatives of target groups to take into account gender equality issues in the project?
Have the gender risks and social impacts of the project been assessed?
Are there management and institutional mechanisms in place to ensure gender equality?
