Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The idea of creating a Scientific and Practical Center for Regenerative Medicine on the basis of the state institution "National Scientific Center "Institute of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine named after Academician M.D. Strazhesko of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" at the address: Kyiv, Svyatoslav Khorobryho St., 5 is to provide the healthcare sector with the latest developments in the field of cellular and gene technologies for personalized treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, diabetes mellitus, cancer, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with alarming burn and gunshot wounds during hostilities, etc. These diseases are the main cause of disability of the working population and cause significant economic losses for the state.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

Today, the departments do not have modern equipment that meets the current level of regenerative medicine. In addition, there is no clinical unit for the use of regenerative medicine technology. All of the above justifies the need for the state to review existing approaches to financing and legislative regulation of scientific research in the field of modern technologies of regenerative medicine. In particular, there is a need for targeted allocation of funds for the design and construction of the Scientific and Practical Center of Regenerative Medicine on the basis of the state institution "National Scientific Center "Institute of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine named after Academician M.D. Strazhesk of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine", at the address: Kyiv, Svyatoslav Khorobrygo St., 5, which will include modern biotechnological laboratories and clinical units equipped with all the necessary equipment, in accordance with the requirements of global standards GMP, GLP and GTP. Under these conditions, the Center will be able not only to conduct fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of cell and gene technologies, but also to be a center for collective use of equipment for institutions of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and medical institutions of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. To implement these plans, it is necessary to urgently solve the above problems, otherwise Ukraine's lagging behind in this area will become threatening, which will affect not only domestic medical science, but also the entire Ukrainian society, because the price of the issue is its health.
