General information

Description of the project

The MAPP "Krasnoilsk - Vikovu de Sus", which became operational in November 2022, in particular carries out customs clearance of empty trucks heading to the European Union. The entrance to the MAPP is via the T-26-08 Storozhynets - Krasnoilsk highway. Due to the intensive traffic of empty trucks heading to the European Union, queues form in front of the checkpoint, which in turn makes it difficult for other road users to travel to the state border. Given the existing features and the need to avoid emergency situations on this road, there is a need to arrange a sludge area and an accumulation lane for trucks.

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Secondary Goal:

Improving the condition of infrastructure

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The project's goal is to improve the optimization and modernization of transport flows in terms of infrastructure capacity, interoperability, and service efficiency.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The checkpoint is heavily loaded, which leads to queues in front of the checkpoint with trucks and blocking the only lane. Blocking forces drivers of passenger vehicles to move in the lane of oncoming traffic, which provokes the creation of dangerous situations and can lead to road accidents and injuries to road users. Taking into account the need to unblock the lane for freight traffic, an open parking lot has been designed at km 28+581 to the right of 46 parking spaces for freight vehicles and an additional lane, which will allow another 60 cars to stop.
