General Information

Program Description

The project "Construction of protective structures against damage by unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles at energy infrastructure facilities" is aimed at protecting critically important facilities of the energy system of Ukraine.

In the conditions of the ongoing war, energy infrastructure is one of the key elements of national security, since its functioning directly affects the livelihoods of the population and the stability of the country's economy.

The project plans to erect protective structures at 22 electrical substations in different regions of the country, which will provide a comprehensive approach to protecting these facilities from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles and missile hits.

These structures will have the ability to withstand both direct and indirect hits, which will significantly reduce the risk of large-scale accidents and power outages. The project involves the construction of protective structures at 22 electrical substations in 14 regions of Ukraine. This will help reduce the risk of infrastructure damage, ensure the stability of energy supply and increase national security.

The main objective of the project is to protect energy facilities from damage, which will minimize economic losses and increase the resilience of the energy system in war conditions.

The expected results include increasing the security of energy infrastructure, reducing the risks of power outages, as well as reducing the costs of restoring damaged facilities. The project will contribute to ensuring the stable functioning of Ukraine's energy system and strengthening its national security.

Strategic Case

Program Goal

Main Goal: Expansion of capacities
Secondary goal: Improvement of infrastructure condition
Problems: The main problem is the increased vulnerability of electrical substations to damage by an aggressor, which can cause serious damage to the infrastructure. The lack of adequate protection threatens mass power outages and significant economic losses for its restoration. In case of damage, restoration of substations will require significant resources and time, which will worsen the situation in the energy system. This, in turn, will affect the livelihood of the population, the operation of critical facilities for the economy and the state's defense capability. The problem becomes especially relevant in the conditions of a long military conflict, when the risk of attacks remains high. Without proper resolution of these issues, the country risks losing the stability of its energy supply, which will have serious consequences for national security.
