General information

Description of the project

The project of reconstruction of the water supply network is a complex of construction works on an already commissioned facility, which involves changing its technical and economic indicators, improving the quality of water supply and improving operating conditions. The main stages of reconstruction. The process is implemented in several stages: Design: includes obtaining technical specifications from the water supply organization, developing a feasibility study and working drawings. Preparatory work: coordinating the location of existing underground communications with their owners, fencing the work area. Construction and installation works: Development of trenches (the depth is usually 1.5-2 m, depending on the level of soil freezing). Dismantling of old and laying new pipelines (for example, replacing steel pipes with polyethylene). Installation of shut-off valves, fire hydrants and arrangement of wells. Commissioning work: flushing and disinfection of the network, hydraulic tests for strength and tightness.

The purpose of the project

Main goal:

Rebuilding the damaged/destroyed

Secondary goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards, Increasing compliance with modern standards, Improving the condition of infrastructure, Improving the quality of services

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

Improving the condition of the water supply network infrastructure and modernizing it to meet modern standards, increasing the level of compliance with modern standards, and improving the quality of utility services.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

Specific problems that will be closed: 1. Technical and operational. Elimination of accidents: Replacing old pipes with new ones (PE-100 or VChShG) practically reduces the number of breakthroughs to zero. The service life of such materials is 50+ years. Pressure stabilization: Thanks to cleaning the network from long-term deposits and rust, throughput is restored. Water will finally reach the upper floors without additional pumps. Tightness of shut-off valves: Installing modern valves will allow you to locally disconnect only one house for repairs, and not the entire neighborhood. 2. Economical. Reduction of water losses: You eliminate “hidden leaks” when water simply goes into the sand. This is a direct saving for the budget of the water utility and communities. Reduction of repair costs: Fuel costs for emergency crews, excavations, and temporary clamps are sharply reduced. Energy efficiency: Lower resistance in the new pipes allows pumping stations to operate with less load, which reduces electricity costs (regulated by the Energy Efficiency Law). 3. Social and sanitary. Water quality: The problem of “rusty water” from the tap disappears, which appears due to internal corrosion of steel pipes. Fire safety: Installation of new fire hydrants according to the requirements of DBN V.2.5-74:2013 guarantees the necessary water flow for extinguishing fires. Uninterruptible power supply: Residents receive predictable service instead of sudden shutdowns “until the circumstances are clarified”. 4. Environmental. Soil protection: The absence of constant leaks prevents the washing away of the foundations of neighboring buildings and the subsidence of roads. Rational use of resources: Less water pumped from the subsoil — less impact on aquifers.
