General information
Description of the project
The lightning protection system is designed to protect against direct lightning strikes and high-potential drift in order to minimize the possibility of fire, injury and death of people, and reduce material losses caused by lightning strikes to building structures.
The project provides for the installation of: an external lightning protection system: to protect the building from direct lightning strikes, the project provides for the installation of a lightning arrester grid, down conductors and a grounding circuit; an internal lightning protection system: to prevent dangerous sparking in the protected building due to lightning current flowing in the external lightning protection system or in other conductive parts of the structure, as well as to protect electrical and electronic equipment from surges caused by lightning strikes, the project provides for the installation of a surge protection device (SPD) in the main distribution board (MDS). Such protective measures as external lightning protection system, shielding, equipotential bonding of conductive parts and surge protection devices define lightning protection zones. As the number of protection zones increases, the influence of the electromagnetic field and lightning current decreases.
