General information

Description of the project

1. Relevance of the project. Children living in remote rural settlements, as well as students with special educational needs, including 3 children who use wheelchairs or have musculoskeletal disorders, study in educational institutions of the Novoukraine City Council. The existing bus fleet is partially worn out and outdated. This limits access to quality education, creates an additional burden on parents, and contradicts the principle of equal opportunities enshrined in the legislation of Ukraine. 2. Project goal. Creating safe and comfortable conditions for transporting students from rural areas and children with disabilities to educational institutions by purchasing a specialized school bus equipped with modern accessibility features. 3. Project objectives. To purchase a specialized school bus with a lift for transporting students in wheelchairs. To ensure daily safe transportation of children, including those with special educational needs. To update the bus fleet, increasing the level of safety and reliability of transport. To create equal conditions for access to quality education for students from rural areas. 4. Expected results. Organization of daily transportation of 3 students with musculoskeletal disorders in comfortable conditions. Ensuring transportation of schoolchildren from rural areas to the support institution. Increasing the level of accessibility and inclusiveness of the educational process. Reducing social inequality and increasing the level of integration of children with disabilities into the school environment. Optimizing the operation of the bus fleet and reducing costs for maintaining outdated transport. The implementation of the project will ensure equal access to quality education, create comfortable and safe conditions for transporting students, contribute to the development of an inclusive educational environment and comply with state policy in the field of supporting children with special educational needs.

Secondary Goal:

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

Creating safe and comfortable conditions for transporting rural students and children with disabilities to educational institutions by purchasing a specialized school bus equipped with modern accessibility features, which will ensure equal access to quality education, create comfortable and safe conditions for transporting students, contribute to the development of an inclusive educational environment, and comply with state policy in the field of supporting children with special educational needs

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

In the Novoukrainska community, 197 students living in rural areas are transported to secondary education institutions, including three children with musculoskeletal disorders. Transportation is provided by 5 school buses, one of which is specialized and two are rented. The bus fleet is outdated and needs to be updated. The specialized bus, manufactured in 2011, needs to be replaced due to the poor condition of the roads and almost daily operation.
