General information

Description of the project

The project aims to provide residents and guests of the village of Fontanka (including internally displaced persons) with stable access to high-quality and safe drinking water. In conditions of martial law and risks of disruptions in the operation of centralized water supply systems, the creation of a reliable autonomous source of drinking water is a critical need for the infrastructural sustainability of the community.

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Creation of new facilities and services

Secondary Goal:

Improving the quality of services

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

Project goal: Creating a sustainable system of autonomous provision of the community with high-quality drinking water by building a modern pump room complex with its own source of production (artesian well). The project aims not only to improve the communal infrastructure, but also to ensure the humanitarian security of the village of Fontanka in the event of possible crisis situations. Method of achievement: The project is planned to be implemented through the sequential implementation of the following stages: Design and survey work: Conducting comprehensive geological and hydrogeological studies to determine the optimal drilling point and aquifer flow rate. Development and examination of design and estimate documentation (PKD). Drilling and well construction: Carrying out drilling work to the depth of clean groundwater, installing casing pipes, pumping equipment and arranging a sanitary protection zone. Construction and installation works: Construction of the pump room building, installation of a multi-level water filtration and disinfection system (reverse osmosis units, ultraviolet irradiation, etc.). Engineering support: Connection of the complex to the power supply and water drainage networks, installation of an automated water dispensing system. Landscaping: Arrangement of the territory around the pump room (paving with tiles, installation of benches, lighting) in compliance with the norms of inclusivity.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

Identified problems: Vulnerability of the water supply system: High dependence on the centralized water supply, which creates risks of complete lack of water in case of accidents on the main networks or long power outages. Inconsistent water quality: Water in existing networks often does not meet modern requirements for organoleptic and chemical indicators (odor, salt content, iron). Economic burden: The need for residents to constantly purchase purified water in commercial outlets or stores, which is a significant expense for socially vulnerable groups of the population and IDPs. Expected results: Autonomy and security: The community will receive its own independent source of water supply, capable of functioning in emergency conditions (subject to the use of generators). Improving public health: Ensuring access to water that has undergone a deep purification system, which will contribute to the prevention of diseases associated with the use of poor-quality water. Social stability: The creation of a free water distribution point will reduce social tension and ensure the basic needs of every community resident. Development of public space: The new pump room complex will become a functional addition to the infrastructure near the House of Culture, making the area more comfortable to stay in.
