General information

Description of the project

The project involves the new construction of a modern and safe pedestrian walkway along Tsentralna Street in the village of Nova Dofinivka, Odessa district. The project implementation includes: Installation of reliable hard pavement for the pedestrian zone (FEM tiles or asphalt concrete). Installation of urban design and landscaping elements: street benches for rest and trash cans. Installation of a network of modern and energy-efficient outdoor lighting along the walkway. Ensuring accessibility and inclusion requirements: installation of lowered curbs and laying tactile tiles at pedestrian crossings and intersections. Greening of the surrounding area (if necessary).

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Creation of new facilities and services

Secondary Goal:

Improving the condition of infrastructure

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The main goal of the project is to create a safe and barrier-free environment for pedestrians along Tsentralna Street in the village of Nova Dofinivka. The project is aimed at achieving the following goals: Guaranteeing safety of life and health: Complete separation of pedestrian and car flows, which will minimize the number of road accidents on the main artery of the village. Ensuring inclusivity: Creating infrastructure that meets the requirements of DBN V.2.2-40:2018, providing the opportunity for free and independent movement for people with disabilities, parents with wheelchairs and the elderly. Development of public space: Transforming the transit zone into a comfortable space for walks and short-term rest for community residents. Improving the ecological and sanitary condition: Landscaping the area adjacent to the road, installing a drainage system and installing elements for waste collection.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The increase in the intensity of automobile traffic makes the problem of pedestrian safety urgent. If the problem is not solved, it is expected that the level of accidents involving pedestrians will remain or increase, further destruction of the sidewalk and deepening of social inequality due to the inaccessibility of basic infrastructure for vulnerable categories of the population. Expected results of the project implementation: Safety: Creation of a physically separated pedestrian zone with a hard surface, which will minimize the risk of accidents involving pedestrians. Accessibility (Inclusivity): Ensuring 100% barrier-free access to social sphere facilities for all categories of the population, including the installation of tactile tiles and lowered curbs. Improvement: Installation of urban design elements (benches, bins, lighting) will radically improve the aesthetic appearance of Tsentralna Street, increase the comfort of movement and the overall index of quality of life in the community.
