General information

Description of the project

The project involves the modernization of the laboratory at the Municipal Health Institution "Kharkiv Regional Medical Professional College" in order to improve the quality of training specialists in the specialty of Nursing. The project plans to modernize the laboratory with simulation, diagnostic and medical equipment, which will allow the educational process to be as close as possible to real clinical conditions. The implementation of the project will contribute to the formation of practical and digital competencies of students, the introduction of innovative teaching methods, in particular simulation and dual education, as well as the expansion of cooperation with medical institutions and other partners. An increase in the number of students, an increase in the employment rate of graduates and the development of the system of continuing medical education are expected.

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Improving the quality of services

Secondary Goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The project was developed in response to the reform of the healthcare and medical education system of Ukraine, the introduction of a competency-based approach, and international clinical standards. Project goal: Creation of a modern laboratory for the training of applicants for professional pre-higher education in the specialty I5 Nursing and retraining of junior medical specialists. Achieving the project goal is ensured by implementing a set of interrelated measures, in particular: 1. Updating the material and technical base through the acquisition of modern simulation, medical and educational equipment for practicing practical skills; 2. Creating and equipping a laboratory that is as close as possible to real clinical conditions; 3. Introducing innovative educational technologies, in particular simulation training and training forms of training; development of a dual form of education by combining training in an educational institution with practice in healthcare institutions; 4. Improving the skills of teaching staff, including through "train-the-trainer" (ToT) programs; 5. Involving practicing specialists (doctors, employees of the State Emergency Service, police, etc.) in the educational process; 6. Expanding cooperation with employers, concluding partnership agreements and organizing practical training for students; 7. Developing and implementing new short-term educational programs and advanced training courses; integrating digital technologies into the educational process; 8. The implementation of these measures in a complex will ensure an increase in the quality of medical personnel training, their competitiveness in the labor market and compliance with modern requirements of the healthcare system.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The existing material and technical base of the college is outdated and does not meet modern training requirements. Most of the training equipment is morally and physically outdated and does not allow for the full implementation of modern clinical scenarios. Today, the college does not have a platform on which students could learn to work with the needs of the military (burn injuries, mine and explosive injuries, amputations, PTSD, recovery during rehabilitation). The proposed project will create a platform for mass and continuous training of both students and cadets of advanced and specialization courses. Expected results of the project implementation: • Training of personnel that meet modern standards of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. • Increasing the practical readiness of graduates to work in civilian healthcare institutions, in emergency conditions and with military injuries. • Increasing trust in the college and the prestige of the profession. • Increasing the number of highly motivated students in the Kharkiv Regional Medical Professional College. • The ability to provide modern educational services to other medical institutions and regions.
