General information

Description of the project

The project envisages the creation of a centralized system of domestic, drinking and fire-fighting water supply. The source of water supply is the existing water supply network, to which the new infrastructure is connected. The investment project envisages the construction and phased commissioning of an external water supply network in the residential area of the city of Chernivtsi in order to provide the population with high-quality drinking water, increase the reliability of engineering infrastructure and create conditions for sustainable development of the territory. The water supply network is laid underground along streets and driveways. The total length of the water supply network is over 2.2 km, which ensures the connection of existing and prospective consumers. The connection of individual residential buildings will be carried out in stages according to separate projects.

The purpose of the project

Main goal:

Meeting demand

Secondary goal:

Capacity building, Contribution to climate or environmental goals, Creation of new facilities and services, Improving the equality of wealth distribution, Improving the condition of infrastructure

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

Providing residents of Romodanivska, Arkhangelska, Gayova, Henicheska and Debaltsevska streets in Chernivtsi with reliable centralized water supply through the construction of a modern water supply network. The project is aimed at improving the level of safety and quality of life of the population, as well as creating engineering prerequisites for sustainable development and further residential development of the territory

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The main problem is the lack or insufficient level of centralized water supply on Romodanivska, Arkhangelska, Gayova, Genicheska and Debaltsevska streets, which forces residents to use decentralized and technically unreliable water sources. This situation is especially relevant today in view of the increasing density of residential development, increased requirements for the quality of drinking water and the need to comply with sanitary and hygienic standards. The second important problem is the low level of fire safety, due to the lack of a full-fledged fire water supply system and fire hydrants. If this problem is not resolved, there is a high risk of significant material damage and threats to the life and health of the population in the event of emergencies. If the project is not implemented, further deterioration of the sanitary and epidemiological situation, increased social tension among residents, increased household spending on alternative sources of water supply and restraint of urban development of the territory are possible. The implementation of the project will ensure comprehensive positive changes, including a stable and safe supply of drinking water, improved fire safety, reduced operating costs and water losses, as well as the creation of engineering prerequisites for the sustainable socio-economic development of the region and increased investment attractiveness.
