General information

Description of the project

The project involves arranging the simplest shelter by redeveloping the basement. Key stages of the work include:

Increasing space: To ensure the regulatory height of the room, it is planned to remove soil to the level of the foundation sole.

Redevelopment and structural changes: Partial dismantling of reinforced concrete blocks and old brickwork is being carried out to break through doorways. The installation of retaining walls and the erection of new partitions is planned. The project involves  arranging bathrooms that meet the requirements of DBN V.2.2-3:2018 "Educational Institutions" and the inclusion standards of DBN V.2.2-40:2018.

Renovation work: It is planned to repair the floor slabs with the restoration of their protective layer using special mixtures. Leveling the floor with reinforced concrete, installing waterproofing and pouring with self-leveling screed, painting. Leveling and finishing the walls.

Safety and evacuation: The project provides two evacuation exits - the main and additional (through the adjacent existing shelter).

External works: Restoration of the external entrance stairs involves cleaning from dust, dirt, removing brittle concrete and restoring the geometry of the steps.

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Secondary Goal:

Improving the equality of wealth distribution, Improving the quality of services

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The purpose of the project is to ensure the safety of participants in the educational process by creating appropriate conditions for their temporary stay in a protective structure during air raids or other emergencies. Carrying out major repairs of the basement with the replacement of engineering networks (ventilation, lighting, water supply) to bring the premises into compliance with sanitary and fire safety standards. Providing the institution with the opportunity to work in a full-time or mixed format under martial law due to the availability of a certified shelter.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The project provides for the removal of soil to the base of the foundations to increase the usable height. After that, a concrete floor covering is arranged. The worn-out decoration of the walls and ceiling is provided for the complete dismantling of old materials that do not meet the standards of the State Building Code. The walls and restored floor slabs will be plastered, primed, puttyed and painted. A bathroom equipped with washbasins is designed. In these rooms, coating waterproofing of the floor with installation on the walls is provided. The project provides for the installation of new ventilation. In places where new communications pass through the walls, hermetic gaps are made. Requirements for lighting and electrical equipment (sockets, switches) will be brought into line with modern standards, which guarantees moisture protection and safety in basement conditions. Restoration of external entrance stairs involves cleaning from dust, dirt, removing brittle concrete, finishing with cement-sand mortar, and restoring the geometry of the steps.

Demand for the service and its dynamics

What methodology was used to estimate demand?
