Description of the project

Major renovation of the building at the address: Zakarpattia region, Mukachevo city,    Grafa von Schönborna st., 4 to equip it with a barrier-free visitor center at the foot of the castle hill, equipping a shelter in the basement, introducing self-service ticket services, organizing an information point and multilingual services, equipping a space for educational, thematic and group events, including by actively involving visitors in learning about the history of the castle and the city in traditional and digital formats.

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The purpose of the project is to develop design and estimate documentation for the implementation of major renovation works of the building at the address: Zakarpattia region, Mukachevo city, Graf von Schönborna st., 4 in connection with the need to preserve and modernize this building, by carrying out a complex of construction and engineering works aimed at updating, technical improvement, increasing energy efficiency and functionality of the existing building in accordance with modern standards. The project is aimed at improving the quality of access, visitor management and basic service of the Mukachevo Castle "Palanok" by implementing measures in the surrounding area and on the adjacent infrastructure that are proportional and compatible with the value of the monument.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

- develop design and estimate documentation for major repairs of the building at the address: Zakarpattia region, Mukachevo, Grafa von Schönborna st., 4; - obtain a positive expert opinion on the developed documentation; - implement a set of works for major repairs of the building at the address: Zakarpattia region, Mukachevo, Grafa von Schönborna st., 4 in accordance with the developed documentation; - save the specified building from destruction, update it technically and functionally; - reduce operating costs and energy consumption through technical modernization; - increase the reliability and durability of the structure; - open a barrier-free visitor center at the foot of the castle hill, - arrange a shelter in the basement of the building; - introduce self-service ticket services; - organize the work of the information point and multilingual services; - to equip a space for educational, thematic and group events, including by actively involving visitors in learning about the history of the castle and the city in traditional and digital formats; - to improve the level of basic service of the Mukachevo Castle "Palanok"; - to create new jobs; - to ensure safe working conditions for staff in the building.
