General information

Description of the project

The need to reconstruct the treatment facilities is due to the emergency and unfinished condition of the existing facilities and the need to modernize the wastewater treatment system before discharge into the Southern Bug River. In addition, the implementation of the previously approved project became impossible due to lack of funding, technically outdated solutions and the destruction of the prefabricated reinforced concrete walls of the aeration tank and the aerobic stabilizer tank.

The goal of the project is to improve the wastewater treatment process and bring the indicators of treated wastewater to permissible values that meet the requirements for discharge into a water body.

The implementation of the project includes the reconstruction of existing treatment facilities using a technological scheme based on the "UMKA-BIO" installation, which will provide a full cycle of aerobic biological treatment with the processes of nitrification, denitrification, phosphorus removal, as well as disinfection of treated wastewater by dosing sodium hypochlorite. The total productivity of domestic wastewater treatment after reconstruction will be 600 cubic meters. per day.

The project provides for:

1) installation of a wastewater accumulator to level out the unevenness of the wastewater supply from the State Water Supply and Sewerage Authority;

2) installation of a wastewater receiving station from unsewered areas of the town. Letychiv;

3) a full cycle of aerobic biological treatment with nitrification, denitrification and phosphorus removal processes based on the “UMKA-BIO” installation;

4) disinfection of treated wastewater by dosing sodium hypochlorite;

5) dehydration of excess activated sludge;

6) discharge of treated and disinfected water through the existing collector into the Shchedrivskoye reservoir;

7) modular solid fuel boiler house to provide backup heating of the treatment plant premises;

8) diesel generator for backup power supply of technological equipment;

9) power supply of the facility from existing 0.4 kV panels installed in the treatment plant premises.

The purpose of the project

Main goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Secondary goal:

Contribution to climate or environmental goals, Improving the quality of services

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The project's goal is to improve the wastewater treatment process and bring the indicators of treated wastewater to acceptable values that meet the requirements for discharge into a water body. The project provides for the reconstruction of existing treatment facilities using a technological scheme based on the "UMKA-BIO" installation, which will provide a full cycle of aerobic biological treatment with the processes of nitrification, denitrification, phosphorus removal, as well as disinfection of treated wastewater by dosing sodium hypochlorite. The total productivity of domestic wastewater treatment after reconstruction will be 600 cubic meters per day.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

It is necessary to dismantle the engineering structures of the aeration tanks and aerobic stabilizer and replace them with modern installations for reliable and efficient operation of the treatment plant complex. The implementation of the project will allow transforming the emergency and unfinished facility into a modern automated wastewater treatment complex that meets current environmental and technical standards.
