Description of the project
The project is aimed at comprehensive restoration (reconstruction) of filtration fields and replacement of worn-out centralized wastewater networks in the city of Sambir, Lviv region, in order to improve the ecological state of the environment, increase the efficiency of the wastewater treatment system and ensure the sustainable functioning of the community's water and sewerage infrastructure. The filtration fields, which have been in use for over 60 years, are in unsatisfactory technical condition: partially destroyed dams, silted-up maps, damaged drainage pipes and worn-out wastewater networks. This reduces the efficiency of wastewater treatment, increases the risk of soil and surface water contamination, in particular the Dniester River, which creates environmental and sanitary and epidemiological risks for the population.
The implementation of the project involves: * conducting engineering and geodetic surveys of the filtration field area; * reconstruction of existing filtration maps with strengthening dams and installing a modern drainage system; * replacing emergency sections of centralized wastewater networks; * installing a sludge removal system and its further disposal; * introducing energy-efficient equipment for technological processes; * landscaping the surrounding area taking into account environmental requirements. The project is being implemented in accordance with current state building codes and standards in the field of environmental protection and water management.
Expected implementation results: * reduction in the volume of untreated or partially treated wastewater entering natural water bodies;* increase in the level of environmental safety and sanitary condition of the community territory;* reduction in emissions of pollutants into the environment;* stable operation of the wastewater system even with increased load due to population growth and IDPs;* improvement in the quality of municipal services and improvement of living conditions for community residents.
