General information

Description of the project

The project involves the restoration of the roof of the local architectural monument - the Andrushivka City House of Culture building at: 2 Sadova Street, Andrushivka, Berdychiv District, Zhytomyr Region. The existing building is one and two-story. The roof of the building is complex, multi-level, hipped - with the existing asbestos-cement corrugated sheet covering on a wooden rafter system, with partially organized external drainage, which is damaged. The building is operated for its main purpose. The design solutions provide for: dismantling the roof covering of asbestos-cement corrugated sheets and lathing; partial replacement/reinforcement of individual elements of the existing roof rafter system; insulation of the roof structure above the stage and the one-story part of the foyer with auxiliary rooms, mineral wool insulation, with the installation of vapor barrier and lining the bottom of the roof with boards; installation of a hydro-wind barrier film, counter battens and a new board batten; installation of a new roof covering; installation of a roof fence and snow retainers; installation of organized external drainage; installation of a lightning protection system for the building; partial restoration of the damaged concrete blind area around the building.

The goal of the project is to preserve and restore the cultural heritage site by restoring the roof of the building, ensuring its reliable and safe operation, extending the service life of the structures, and creating proper conditions for the functioning of the cultural institution.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The roof of the building, according to the category of structural condition: "3" (technical condition: not suitable for normal operation), which creates risks of further damage to the ceilings, walls and internal premises. The City House of Culture is a key infrastructure unit in the field of culture of the Andrushivsk urban territorial community. The institution serves residents of the city and the starosta districts of the community, covering different age categories of the population - children, youth, adults and older people. Creative groups, amateur art circles work here, and mass events are held.
