General information

Description of the project

The project involves the creation of a modern educational space in gymnasiums and lyceums of the Kryvyi Rih urban territorial community within the framework of the implementation of the "New Ukrainian School" reform in three interrelated areas. The first area is the modernization of the educational environment of gymnasiums, which involves updating the material and technical base and purchasing modern educational equipment for 11 physics laboratories in Kryvyi Rih gymnasiums No. 8, 12, 103, 73, 110, 94, 109, 2; for 4 chemistry laboratories in Kryvyi Rih gymnasiums No. 26, 59, 32, 91; and for 2 biology laboratories in Kryvyi Rih gymnasiums No. 117, 125. The implementation of these measures will contribute to the creation of a modern educational environment necessary for the implementation of an activity-based approach in the education of students in grades 5-9. In addition, the renovation of the laboratory base will contribute to improving the quality of teaching natural sciences, strengthening interdisciplinary connections and creating conditions for more effective training of students. The second direction provides for the implementation of pilot projects in Kryvyi Rih lyceums No. 81 and 119, which involves the creation of a modern educational space in pilot educational institutions. Within the framework of this direction, it is planned to purchase teaching aids and equipment, computer and multimedia equipment, as well as furniture for classrooms of mathematical, natural and computer science educational branches and interdisciplinary integrated courses (STEM, robotics). In particular, it is planned to equip physical, biological, chemical and STEM laboratories with modern educational complexes, which will provide the opportunity to introduce innovative educational technologies, develop research and project activities of students, as well as integrate natural and technological disciplines. The third direction is the creation and equipping of specialized centers for teaching the subject "Defense of Ukraine" in Kryvyi Rih lyceums No. 127, 123, 119, 81, 77, 49. The implementation of this direction is aimed at ensuring appropriate conditions for high-quality teaching of subjects and the formation of practical skills. Within the framework of the implementation of the measures, it is planned to equip specialized educational spaces equipped with modern educational and training equipment, means for practicing first aid skills, simulation training kits, multimedia equipment and other teaching aids necessary for organizing practical training of education seekers. The educational institutions participating in the project are equipped with the simplest shelters, which makes it possible to organize the educational process in safe conditions and ensure the continuity of education in martial law. In addition, to create a modern and functional educational environment, it is planned to carry out major or current repairs of the relevant premises, as well as purchase and install the necessary equipment. The implementation of these measures will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the educational process, ensuring the practical orientation of training and forming in students the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of natural sciences, national security, civil defense and first aid.

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The goal of the project is to create a modern, safe, inclusive and technologically equipped educational space in secondary education institutions that meets the requirements of the "New Ukrainian School" reform, state education standards and modern approaches to organizing the educational process. The implementation of the project is aimed at ensuring that the material and technical base of educational institutions meets modern educational standards, creating an environment that promotes the development of key competencies of students, activity-based and integrated approaches to learning, creating conditions for the effective use of digital technologies in the educational process, ensuring equal access to quality education, including for children with special educational needs, increasing students' motivation to study and professional development of teaching staff. In a strategic dimension, the project will contribute to the formation of a competitive graduate capable of further learning, self-realization and integration into modern society. The achievement of the specified goal will be carried out through the implementation of three interrelated areas. Creating a modern educational space is primarily the renewal of the material and technical base and the acquisition of modern educational equipment. Creating a digital transformation, namely providing gymnasiums with modern computer technology, installing interactive panels and multimedia equipment, developing network infrastructure, implementing digital educational platforms and resources. Creating a flexible educational environment, namely the acquisition of mobile and ergonomic furniture, creating areas for group, project and research work, organizing the educational space in accordance with the principles of universal design and accessibility. Creating a modern educational space in pilot institutions is primarily the acquisition of modern equipment for classrooms in mathematical, natural and computer science educational branches and interdisciplinary integrated courses (STEM, robotics). In particular, it is planned to equip physical, biological, chemical and STEM laboratories with modern educational complexes, which will provide the possibility of implementing innovative educational technologies, developing research and project activities of students, as well as integrating natural and technological disciplines. Creation and equipping of "Defense of Ukraine" centers, arrangement of specialized educational zones, namely, the creation of thematic centers for teaching the subject "Defense of Ukraine", purchase of educational and training equipment, equipping with multimedia means for demonstrating educational materials. Practical training, purchase of mannequins and means for practicing first aid skills, provision of simulation kits for practicing algorithms of actions in emergency situations, creation of conditions for the formation of basic security skills, self-defense and civil preparedness. The implementation of the project will ensure the systematic modernization of the community's general secondary education institutions, increase the competitiveness of the educational network, and create conditions for high-quality, safe, and modern basic secondary education.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The existing infrastructure of gymnasiums of the Kryvyi Rih urban territorial community provides the appropriate basic conditions for the functioning of institutions and the organization of the educational process, however, it was formed mainly in previous decades and is focused on the traditional model of education. In the context of the implementation of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education and the implementation of the "New Ukrainian School" reform, such infrastructure requires systematic updating and technological modernization. The science and mathematics classrooms in most gymnasiums are equipped with basic demonstration materials and equipment, some of which is morally and technically outdated. The available sets do not fully provide for laboratory and practical work in accordance with the new model curricula. The lack of modern digital measuring complexes, sensors, integrated STEM sets and interdisciplinary equipment limits the possibilities of implementing activity and research approaches, which are key in the reform of the National School of Education. Multimedia and computer equipment in gymnasiums is heterogeneous. Some institutions are equipped with interactive learning tools, but not all classrooms have modern multimedia equipment. A significant part of computer equipment needs to be updated due to physical wear and tear and non-compliance with modern software requirements. This complicates the full digital transformation of the educational process, the implementation of blended learning, the use of electronic educational resources and the development of students' digital competence. The educational space of most gymnasiums is formed according to the principle of stationary classroom organization (traditional arrangement of desks), which does not meet modern requirements for mobility and flexibility of the environment. The lack of a sufficient amount of modular furniture and areas for group work limits the possibilities of implementing project-based learning, team interaction and interactive methods. The implementation of a project to provide gymnasiums with modern learning tools and equipment is a reasonable and necessary condition for the systemic modernization of the educational environment of the community. It will allow bringing the material and technical base into line with state standards, ensuring equal access of students to high-quality educational resources, increasing the efficiency of the educational process, and creating conditions for the formation of key competencies of students of basic secondary education.
