General information

Description of the project

The detailed design provides for: reconstruction of the water intake site (WIS) No. 2 with the replacement of steel water pipes Ду=300 mm from the existing wells to clean water tanks and Ду=250 mm from the metering unit chamber to the first valve of the pumping station (engine room) on the territory of WIS Me 2 with water pipes made of polyethylene pipes with a diameter of  315 mm and 250 mm, respectively, and the arrangement of WIS No. 2 with a metering unit; reconstruction of water supply networks from WIS No. 2 to Vyshnevetskikh Street N° 19/1 with the replacement of the steel water pipe Ду=400 from the metering unit chamber at WIS No. 2 to residential building No. 19/1 on Vyshnevetskikh Street with a polyethylene one with a diameter of 400 mm; reconstruction of water supply networks from water intake site No. 3 to Fabrychna Street with replacement of cast-iron water main Du=273 mm from the metering chamber to VZM No. 3 - Industrialna Street, to Oleksandrivska Street, further to the intersection with Fabrychna Street with a water main made of polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 250 mm, arrangement of VZM No. 3 with a metering unit; reconstruction of water supply networks along Kamianopotitska Street (from Sadovaya Street to Dachna Street) with replacement of cast-iron water main Du=273 mm with a water main made of polyethylene pipes with a diameter of 250 mm. The working project provides for appropriate solutions to comply with the requirements for sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, labor protection, ecology, fire safety, energy saving

The purpose of the project

Main goal:

Improving the equality of wealth distribution

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

Main goal category: Expanding access to goods and services. Additional goal categories: Improving the quality of water supply services for residents of Lubny, improving the condition of infrastructure and its modernization to meet modern standards. Detailed goal description: The goal of the project is to provide 26,750 residents of Lubny, Lubny district, Poltava region with high-quality drinking water by expanding access to basic life goods and services, namely: centralized water supply. The implementation of the project will improve the sanitary well-being of residents of Lubny, modernize the main water supply systems of the city in accordance with modern requirements, ensure the provision of uninterrupted and high-quality water supply services, reduce local budget expenses for emergency response, reduce social vulnerability of the population and increase the overall standard of living in Lubny. The goal is expected to be achieved through the reconstruction of water intake site No. 2 and water supply networks with a total length of 3,679 km

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The water supply of the city of Lubny is provided by water mains built in the 70s. Their service life is more than 50 years, that is, the operation of this water network has exceeded the maximum service life twice (for steel pipes the service life is set at 25 years). The condition of the water mains as a result of long-term operation is unsatisfactory, the water mains have reached their resource and are in an emergency state due to corrosion of the metal of the pipe walls, which is why accidents occur frequently. After replacing the central water mains, this will make it possible to provide the population with clean and safe drinking water and social facilities of the city, this will contribute to improving the health, hygiene maintenance and general well-being of the population of the community. Uninterrupted access to centralized water supply services is necessary to create a safe and favorable environment for community development
