General information

Description of the project

The project Purchase and installation of a protective screen at the waste disposal site in the city of Khmilnyk, Vinnytsia region is aimed at reducing the negative impact of the waste disposal site on the environment and the surrounding area. The implementation involves the purchase and installation of a protective screen that will prevent the spread of garbage, unpleasant odors and dust, as well as improve the sanitary and ecological condition of the waste disposal site

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Secondary Goal:

Improving the quality of services

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

1. Increasing the level of environmental safety in the territory of the waste disposal site, reducing the negative impact on the environment, improving the aesthetic appearance of the MSW, creating conditions for more effective and controlled management of household waste, fulfilling environmental and sanitary requirements

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The Khmilnyk waste disposal site has been in use for quite a long time. The territory is partially equipped, but there are no modern protective structures that would ensure the proper level of environmental safety: 1. The landfill will be equipped with waterproofing - which will prevent the penetration of toxic leachate (liquid formed during the decomposition of waste) into the soil and groundwater, protecting water resources. 2. Prevention of the spread of microorganisms will be carried out: The screen creates a barrier for pathogenic microorganisms that may be contained in waste. 3. Gas control will be implemented: It prevents the spread of landfill gases (such as methane).
