General information

Description of the project

About 4.1 thousand people live in the Starozhadivskyi Starostynskyi district (villages of Nova Zhadova, Stara Zhadova, Dibrivka, Kosovanka). The settlements are remote from the administrative center of the community - the city of Storozhynets (25 km) and the regional center - the city of Chernivtsi (50 km).  There are two gymnasiums and a support lyceum on the territory of the Starostynskyi district, where about 500 children study. The presence of modern socially important facilities is necessary to ensure the proper quality of life of the population. Among the current problems is the lack of proper sports infrastructure, which makes it impossible to fully engage in physical culture and sports. According to the KNP "Storozhynetska BLIL", over 80% of children have health abnormalities, and over 50% - unsatisfactory level of physical development. At the same time, in the village of Stara Zhadova, on Sportivna Street, there is a vacant communal plot (cadastral number 7324589500:04:002:0225, area 1.8520 ha), which is registered as a village stadium, but is not equipped. The implementation of the project to build a sports ground with an artificial surface will create conditions for students and villagers to play sports outside of school hours, will contribute to the popularization of a healthy lifestyle, improving the physical condition of the population and the development of modern sports infrastructure in the community.           The project involves the construction of a sports ground with an artificial surface in the village of Stara Zhadova, Storozhynetsk urban territorial community. The main goal of the project is — creation of accessible sports infrastructure for children, youth and all residents of the Starozhadivskyi starostynskyi district (villages of Nova Zhadova, Stara Zhadova, Dibrivka, Kosovanka). The implementation of the project will make it possible to organize systematic physical education classes, sports competitions and outdoor leisure activities. The expected results are: improving the physical health of the population, especially children and adolescents; increasing the level of involvement of community residents in sports; creating a safe and comfortable space for leisure; developing modern sports infrastructure in a remote settlement. The implementation of the project will contribute to the popularization of a healthy lifestyle, social integration of residents and strengthening the social infrastructure of the community.

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The main goal is to create a new sports infrastructure facility - a modern sports ground with artificial turf in the village of Stara Zhadova of the Storozhynetsk urban territorial community. An additional goal is to expand access of community residents to public goods, in particular high-quality sports infrastructure, which will contribute to the formation of a healthy lifestyle, improving the physical condition of the population and the development of social activity. Ways to achieve the goal: • design and construction of a modern multifunctional sports ground with artificial turf; • equipping the ground with the necessary safety elements/lighting/fencing/spectator areas; • providing conditions for physical education for schoolchildren, youth and adults after school hours; • organizing systematic sports events and leisure activities for residents of the Starozhadova Starostynsky district. Gap between current and target state: Currently, there is no sports infrastructure in the village - the existing village stadium is not equipped at all: it has no surface, markings, equipment and does not meet safety requirements. This makes it impossible to hold physical education classes and competitions. The target state involves the creation of a full-fledged, accessible and safe sports space that will be able to cover more than 4 thousand residents of the Starozhadivskyi Starostynskyi district, including at least 500 school-age children, contributing to increasing the level of physical activity and improving the health of the population.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

Key problems: • lack of proper conditions for physical education and sports; • low level of physical activity among children and youth; • deterioration of the health of schoolchildren (over 80% have health problems, over 50% have unsatisfactory physical development); • lack of safe space for community residents to spend time. Expected results of implementation: • creation of a modern sports ground accessible to all population groups; • improvement of the physical and psycho-emotional health of children and adults; • increase in the level of social activity, community cohesion; • development of modern sports infrastructure in a remote settlement.
