General information

Description of the project

The construction of a protective civil defense structure (radiation shelter) on the territory of the municipal institution "Zlatopil Lyceum No. 2 of the Zlatopil City Council of the Kharkiv Region" will provide a safe space for students, teaching staff and technical personnel of the institution, who will be able to continue their studies and work process during shelling and emergencies.

The project provides for the construction of a shelter with an underground passage directly from the lyceum building. The shelter is of a fully buried type with a corridor planning system. Evacuation exits are located on the left side towards the sports grounds on the mountain.

The protective structure (radiation shelter) is designed to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities and other low-mobility groups in accordance with the requirements of DBN V.2.2-40.

The radiation shelter structure is designed to ensure protection against dangerous factors in the event of emergencies.

The project provides for the installation of external heat supply networks to connect the protective structure. The source of heat supply is an individual block-modular boiler room, located separately on the territory of the institution.

Returning to live communication with teachers and peers will help children reduce psychological trauma from distance learning.

The purpose of the project

Main goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Secondary goal:

Improving the condition of infrastructure, Introducing innovations and energy-efficient solutions, Meeting demand

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

Creating a safe educational environment by building a modern anti-radiation shelter will ensure continuous in-person learning and physical protection for students and lyceum staff in emergency situations. Ensuring the right of children to safe in-person education and socialization through the construction of an inclusive protective structure integrated into the lyceum infrastructure, with full compliance with accessibility standards and autonomous life support.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The institution does not have proper shelter, which makes it impossible for children to stay in the building during air raids. Due to the lack of a protective structure, the lyceum operates online, which reduces the quality of education. As a result of the project, a protected perimeter will be created (thanks to an underground passage and a buried type of structure), which minimizes evacuation time and risks. Connection to a block-modular boiler room will provide the proper temperature regime, allowing the shelter to be used as a multifunctional space.
