General information

Description of the project

Due to the increased risk of emergencies in Ukraine, the presence of a shelter is a mandatory condition for the functioning of an educational institution. The reconstruction of the anti-radiation shelter No. 85538 will create safe conditions for pupils and employees of the Letychiv preschool educational institution of the child development center "Kalynonka".

The project involves a complete renovation and modernization of the existing anti-radiation shelter to bring it into line with modern safety requirements, including:

  • Installation of additional entrances to the PRU (in the amount of 2 pcs.) – tunnel with an exit beyond the possible collapse zone and a ramp for access by less mobile population groups;
  • Installation of pits for the placement of engineering equipment in them;
  • Dismantling of existing water supply and sewage networks;
  • Installation of ceiling and floor decoration;
  •  Installation of partitions to create a new necessary set of premises;
  • Installation of wall decoration;
  • Installation of a water supply and drainage system with two fecal pumps and with the relocation of existing networks;
  • Installation of a drinking water tank to provide it to people staying in the PRU;
  • Installation of a ventilation system with all the necessary infrastructure;
  • Installation of electrical networks and lighting networks;
  • Installation of fire protection systems security, including a voice air-raid alert system

The purpose of the project

Main goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Secondary goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

This reconstruction aims to bring the PRU into compliance with current building codes, regulations and standards in order to ensure reliable protection of the population (pupils and employees of the institution) from the impact of emergency situations, as well as to ensure safety and accessibility in use, including fire safety requirements. The goal of the PRU reconstruction is achieved through a complex of architectural, construction and engineering solutions: 1. Architectural and construction solutions and accessibility 2. Engineering support and life support 3. Fire safety and notification 4. Engineering and technical measures of civil protection

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The main problem is the non-compliance of the PRU with numerous current state building codes (DBN) and standards. Therefore, to ensure safe conditions for children and workers in the shelter, it is necessary to reconstruct the PRU and bring it into line with state building codes and standards. Solution results: 1. Project documentation (including AB, ETR, VK, OV, SO, ITZ CZ) was finalized and adjusted in accordance with the expert's comments. Working drawings were developed in accordance with current norms, rules and standards. 2. Quality control is ensured by conducting commissioning work in three stages, checking the equipment's compliance with technical conditions and drawing up acts of hidden work (for example, sealing air ducts, installing ventilation). 3. The project (reconstruction) adds a second emergency exit (tunnel), installs new watertight compartments (engineering systems), adds a radio station for distress signals (alert system) and provides access to all population groups, which guarantees its reliability.
