Description of the project
The project "Overhaul of premises with the arrangement of a rehabilitation department for war veterans and persons with disabilities in the building of the KNP "Novoyarychivska District Hospital" on Nezalezhnosti Street in the village of Novyi Yarychiv, Lviv district, Lviv region" provides for the creation of a rehabilitation environment with safe conditions in accordance with the norms and requirements of the legislation. The specified premises are not adapted for the low-mobility population and are in a neglected condition: mold and fungus on the walls, electrical wiring, plumbing, outdated furniture need to be replaced. As a result of the project, a medical observation and physical rehabilitation department for persons with disabilities and war veterans will be located, rehabilitation equipment has been purchased. Due to the need to expand the direction of providing rehabilitation services, in accordance with changes in current legislation, it is associated with the provision of rehabilitation services to veterans. Currently, the Novoyarichiv District Hospital cannot provide such services due to the lack of a specially equipped room.

To carry out major repairs of the premises of the building of the Novoyarychiv District Hospital in order to create a modern rehabilitation department for war veterans and people with disabilities. The project is aimed at:
providing an accessible and safe environment for people with disabilities;
arranging specialized offices and premises for medical, physical, psychological and social rehabilitation;
improving the quality of medical and rehabilitation services in the community.
integrating war veterans and people with disabilities into everyday life by restoring physical and psycho-emotional health;
modernizing the hospital infrastructure in accordance with modern standards.
Thus, the project aims to create a space where veterans and people with disabilities will be able to receive comprehensive assistance, which will contribute to their rehabilitation, social adaptation and improvement of the quality of life.
Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation
In the conditions of a full-scale war in Ukraine, the number of veterans, combatants and people who have become disabled as a result of wounds or injuries has increased sharply. They need high-quality medical, physical and psychological rehabilitation to restore health, work capacity and social adaptation.
The existing infrastructure of healthcare institutions in communities does not fully meet modern requirements for accessibility and the provision of specialized rehabilitation services. The premises of the Novoyarychiv District Hospital require major repairs and equipment in accordance with the standards of barrier-free, energy efficiency and comfort for patients.
The implementation of the project will allow:
to create a modern rehabilitation department in the village of Novy Yarychiv, which will provide comprehensive assistance to war veterans and people with disabilities;
to significantly increase the level of accessibility of medical services for low-mobility population groups;
to reduce social isolation and promote the integration of veterans into the community;
improve the material and technical base of the medical institution and increase the efficiency of resource use of the local healthcare system.
Thus, the project is socially significant and relevant for the community, as it meets the urgent needs of society, promotes the restoration of health and reintegration of war veterans and people with disabilities, and also strengthens the capacity of the medical infrastructure of the Lviv district.
