General information

Description of the project

At the preparatory stage of scientific and search works, engineering and architectural surveys, historical and archival research of the monument were conducted, the surrounding area was analyzed and assessed in detail, and the wishes of the institution's administration to improve the possibilities of its further operation were taken into account.
It should be noted the special approach of the authors, who, in accordance with monument protection legislation and state building codes, did not limit themselves to the simple restoration of the facades and roof. It consisted not only in the restoration of the structural parts of the existing building, but also in the restoration of individual lost architecturally significant elements, protection of the monument from negative atmospheric influences, improvement of the conditions of its use, creation of a safe environment, including safety of public and traffic.
In particular, the Restoration Project provides for the reproduction of the attic with the coat of arms of the city of Volodymyr above the risalit of the main entrance, as well as the restoration (according to archival materials) of the lost balcony on the courtyard facade of the building.
The installation of updated porches with stairs, ramps, lifts and an evacuation ladder will significantly improve the operational capabilities of the monument, provide convenient access to it for people with limited physical abilities.
With the construction of a new roof, which by design will be closest to the authentic appearance of the building, facing the basement, installation of an improved blind areas, will increase its protection from precipitation. With the installation of skylights, the appropriate regulatory conditions for the operation of the attic will be created.
The restoration project includes well-thought-out proposals for the improvement of the monument's territory that meet the requirements of state building codes. They provide for the demolition of the existing resting place, benches and an old tree on the pedestrian walkway along the main facade and the relocation of the resting area (to the left of the facade) surrounded by tall thujas, which also serves as noise protection for classes from the noise of vehicles on the street. Sobornaya.
Another expedient proposal of the project is to separate the carriageway of the streets FROM the sidewalk and the exit from the school by installing a railing, which provides a safe environment for its students.
Quite interesting and functionally attractive is the proposal to create (in the future), near the northern wing of the building, a summer amphitheater-stage for promoting musical creativity among the population, holding children's creative reports, and outdoor concerts.
As for the proposed color scheme of the facades, it is designed in accordance with the architectural style of the monument and is traditional for administrative buildings of the late 19th - first half of the 20th centuries, and also fully corresponds to the character of the historical environment of Sobornaya Street.
Thus, this Restoration Project, the implementation of which will significantly improve the quality of the urban environment, the historical area of the city of Volodymyr, as a whole, and will become another as a model of its revaluation. It is this approach that is currently dominant for the historical inhabited cities of Ukraine.

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

At the preparatory stage of scientific and search works, engineering and architectural surveys, historical and archival studies of the monument were carried out, the adjacent territory was analyzed and evaluated in detail, and the wishes of the institution's administration to improve the possibilities of its further operation were taken into account. The project meets the requirements of monument protection legislation and state building codes, is not limited to the simple restoration of facades and roofs. It consists not only in the restoration of structural parts of the existing building, but also in the restoration of individual lost architecturally significant elements, protection of the monument from negative atmospheric influences, improvement of the conditions of its use, creation of a safe environment, including the safety of public and transport traffic. In particular, the Restoration Project provides for the reproduction of the attic with the coat of arms of the city of Volodymyr above the risalit of the main entrance, as well as the restoration (according to archival materials) of the lost balcony on the courtyard facade of the building. The installation of updated porches with stairs, ramps, lifts and an evacuation ladder will significantly improve the operational capabilities of the monument, provide convenient access to it for people with disabilities. With the construction of a new roof, which by design will be closest to the authentic appearance of the building, the facing of the basement, the installation of an improved blind area around the perimeter will increase its protection from precipitation. With the installation of skylight windows, the appropriate regulatory conditions for the operation of the attic will be created. As part of the restoration project, there are well-thought-out proposals for the improvement of the monument's territory that meet the requirements of state building standards. They provide for the demolition of the existing resting place, benches and an old tree on the pedestrian walkway along the main facade and the relocation of the recreation area (to the left of the facade) surrounded by tall thujas, which also serves as noise protection for classes from the noise of vehicles on Sobornaya Street.  Another expedient proposal of the project is to separate the carriageway of the streets FROM the sidewalk and the exit from the school by installing a railing, which provides a safe environment for its students.
