Description of the project

The project involves the construction of a barrier-free pedestrian route in the city of Smila, which will connect the premises of the administrative services center and the building of the municipal non-profit enterprise "Smilyanska City Hospital" on Sofiivska Street, through major repairs of sidewalks with the installation of accessibility elements, in particular, lowering the curbstone, laying tactile tiles, arranging pedestrian crossings and removing physical obstacles for low-mobility groups.

The project proposes to create conditions for unhindered movement of pedestrians, including people with disabilities, by carrying out major repairs of the sidewalk within the barrier-free route in the city of Smila, Cherkasy region.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The existing pedestrian infrastructure on the designated route has physical barriers (damaged sidewalks, lack of lowered curbs, tactile elements, and safe crossings), which complicates access for low-mobility groups to social infrastructure facilities and increases the risk of injuries, while the implementation of the project through major repairs of sidewalks and the installation of barrier-free elements will ensure safe, convenient, and equally accessible transportation for all community residents.
