General information

Description of the project

The project involves the comprehensive implementation of fire protection systems in educational institutions, in particular:

-installation of an automatic fire alarm system (AFS);

-installation of a warning and evacuation control system;

-installation of an alarm transmission system to a monitoring station, etc.

Today, there are a number of critical problems in the field of fire safety in institutions:

-absence or obsolescence of a fire alarm system;

-absence of fire warning systems;

-inadequate condition of evacuation routes.

The purpose of the project

Main Goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Secondary Goal:

Increasing compliance with modern standards

Description of the purpose of the project and ways to achieve it

The purpose of the project is to create a safe educational environment in preschool and general secondary education institutions by bringing the facilities into compliance with the fire safety requirements specified in the Civil Protection Code of Ukraine and the Fire Safety Rules in Ukraine. The project will be implemented through a set of technical and organizational measures: 1. Technical re-equipment of institutions installation of automatic fire alarm systems; implementation of warning and evacuation control systems; connection to centralized alarm transmission systems; arrangement or modernization of internal fire water supply systems; installation of modern fire extinguishing equipment; performance of fire-resistant treatment of structures; arrangement of lightning protection systems.

Problems and solutions resulting from project implementation

The infrastructure of preschool and general secondary education institutions includes buildings, engineering networks and fire protection systems, which in most cases were put into operation more than 20–40 years ago. Existing security systems were formed according to outdated standards and do not meet modern requirements specified by the Civil Protection Code of Ukraine and Fire Safety Rules in Ukraine. ⚙️ Technical condition of infrastructure a significant part of the buildings has physical and moral wear and tear; automatic fire alarm systems are absent or partially absent; fire alarm systems are either absent or do not function; internal fire water pipes are in a faulty condition or are not operated; electrical networks are outdated and require modernization; wooden structures are not treated with fire retardants or the treatment has lost its effectiveness. ? The approximate degree of wear of individual elements is 60–80%. The existing infrastructure is technically outdated, worn out and fragmented, which does not allow to ensure the proper level of fire safety. This creates a critical gap between the actual state and the requirements of the legislation and necessitates the implementation of a project to modernize it.
