After the start of the full-scale invasion, most educational institutions in Zaporizhzhia Oblast were forced to switch to online or hybrid learning. Radiation shelters are being built in the region to return children to full-time education.
Six projects in the region received state subvention funds, which were distributed this year using the DREAM ecosystem.
After the new construction of radiation protection shelters in Zaporizhzhia region schools is completed, 8098 children can return to offline education. Work has already begun on all six sites.
Here is the progress made in constructing school shelters in the Zaporizhzhia region.

This year, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MOES), and the Ministry of Digital Transformation initiated a new approach to the distribution of subventions for projects of shelters and canteens in educational institutions. The main difference is that the DREAM ecosystem is used to ensure fast and transparent digital procedures and that the MOES commission selects projects. In May, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated funds to repair and construct 57 school shelters. Communities have to report on the use of funds and the progress of work in DREAM every month.
