Transport Sector

The transport sector is a foundation of Ukraine’s economy, supported by an extensive railway network, a developed system of highways, seaports and river terminals, airports, and freight customs terminals.
This pipeline will present public investment projects and programs in the transport infrastructure sector that correspond to the areas of air, road, rail, maritime, and inland water transport, road infrastructure, postal services, as well as public transport and road border crossing points. These initiatives support the implementation of the National Transport Strategy of Ukraine. The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine is engaged in the preparation and development of projects and programs in these areas, forming a sectoral project pipeline at the national level and subsequently enriching it with public investment projects at the regional and local levels.

Bridge Installation (UKEF)
A technical solution was considered, which involves refusing to restore damaged bridges and overpasses and leaving them in a destroyed state as artificial obstacles in the event of a repeated military offensive.
The project involves the overhaul of six bridges and overpasses in the Kyiv region, damaged as a result of military operations in 2022. Its goal is to restore safe and continuous transport connections, reduce transportation times and increase the resilience of transport infrastructure to crisis situations. Financing is provided by UK Export Finance (UKEF) loans under the state guarantee of the United Kingdom and co-financing from the state budget of Ukraine. The project implementation covers the period from December 2023 to December 2025 and includes the development of design and estimate documentation, construction and installation works, design and technical supervision, commissioning of facilities and monitoring of efficiency. The total cost of the project is UAH 2.37 billion (excluding VAT).
