Khorolska

Khorol region is an ancient Slavic region that combines the beauty and generosity of nature and a rich history. The chronicled city of Khorol is one of the oldest in the Poltava region, located on the right bank of the Khorol River. The name of the city of Khorol comes from the river of the same name and most likely means "pasture", "camp", "dwelling". Settlement on the territory of the modern city arose a long time ago, back in the Neolithic era (new stone age). Khorol is first mentioned in the spiritual of Volodymyr Monomakh in 1083. Modern Khorol is the administrative center of the Khorol urban territorial community, which consists of 92 villages and 1 city.

Khorolsk urban territorial community of Lubny district of Poltava region was formed in accordance with the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On the formation and liquidation of districts" dated July 17, 2020 No. 807-ИХ. The community includes 3 village communities, 10 village councils, and 1 administrative center.

The European transport route of international importance M03 "Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky" passes through the territory of the administrative center of the community, which provides convenient connections with megalopolis cities: both with Kyiv and with Kharkov (242 and 286 km, respectively). In the city of Khorol there is an intermediate railway station on the section of the railway route "Romodan-Kremenchuk". The distance to the regional center - Poltava - is 103 km.

The temperate continental climate, sufficiently humid, with moderately cold winters and warm summers, and the presence of a variety of landforms create favorable climatic conditions for people and the development of agricultural production.

Khorolsk urban-territorial community is a picturesque region, rich in glorious historical events, extraordinary personalities, its own folk traditions and customs, a region with fertile soil and hardworking residents. A territory with a competitive and investment-attractive economy, diversified agricultural production and developed transport infrastructure, a place of comfortable and safe residence of healthy, educated and socially secure people.

The area of the united territorial community is 1062.33 sq. km.

The population is 29,273 people, of which 12,036 are city residents.
