Modernization of existing premises (basements/technical areas)
As an alternative to the construction of a new civil protection facility (CPF) on the premises of the institution, the following can be considered: Modernization of existing premises - re-equipment of basement or technical areas with structural reinforcement, installation of ventilation systems, autonomous lighting and communication. Use of the nearest available community shelters - organization of a route and evacuation plan for children and staff to already functioning protective structures within the city. Mobile modular shelters - installation of quickly assembled container or prefabricated structures that can be moved or reused. Limitations of alternatives: Modernization of existing premises is often technically impossible due to a high degree of wear and tear. The use of external shelters creates risks to evacuation time and child safety. Mobile modular solutions provide only a temporary level of protection and require additional maintenance costs.
