Bank fortification of the left bank of the Dniester River within the city of Sambor, Lviv region (New construction) Carrying out current repairs to the shore without the construction of new engineering structures
Strengthening the bank of the Dniester River by planting vegetation with a deep root system and using bioengineered structures (fascines, gabions made of natural materials) without the use of concrete or metal reinforcements
The project involves the new construction of a bank fortification on the left bank of the Dniester River within the city of Sambor, Lviv region. The main goal is to protect coastal areas and infrastructure facilities from destruction, flooding and landslides caused by floods and erosion processes. The works include strengthening the coastline with gabion structures, installing drainage structures and partial improvement of the adjacent territory. The implementation of the project will contribute to reducing the risk of emergencies, preserving land and improving the ecological condition of the water body. The planned measures meet the requirements of environmental safety and sustainable development of the community. The bank fortification is designed as a retaining wall of individual construction with a length of . on bored piles with a bulk dam, the wall is designed with a height of prefabricated reinforced concrete slab blocks. The wall is designed with sections with a length of grillage . In the upper part of the wall, along its entire length, a monolithic concrete parapet of variable height is provided for the safety of pedestrians and vehicles. The project provides for the straightening of the riverbed - changing the flow dynamics prevents the destruction of the bank.
