The reconstruction of the treatment facilities will solve 2 important problems for the city: environmental and economic. New treatment facilities with a capacity of 62 thousand m3 per day will allow transferring all capacities to one site outside the city and purifying wastewater in accordance with European directives and standards. Automation of processes and operation of exceptionally energy-efficient equipment will allow significant savings in the wastewater treatment process. Completion of the reconstruction of the sewage treatment facilities 2 will allow decommissioning of the sewage treatment facilities 1. All wastewater entering the Main Sewerage Pumping Station (SPS) is pumped through a collector with a diameter of 1000 mm, which runs through the territory of the sewage treatment facilities (STP 1). Then one thread of the specified collector runs to the sewage treatment facilities 2 (STP 2). Emergency backup collectors are present only between the GKNS site and OSK 1. To switch to operation only OSK 2 and discontinue the use of the OSK 1 site, it is necessary to build a backup sewer collector line with a length of 2,500 m between these sites, which is planned as the second stage of construction of the project.
