The kitchen factory «ГотуЇмо» in Bucha is the first pilot project within the School Nutrition Reform. The factory was constructed with the financial support of the American philanthropist Howard G. Buffett. The project’s launch enabled balanced school lunches to be provided to about 7,500 students daily, significantly optimizing the food organization process in the community’s educational institutions.
The «kitchen factory» model involves creating a separate facility to prepare, shock-cool, and transport food to many schools. This approach saves water and electricity costs and guarantees children a systematic supply of safe, high-quality food.
The production capacity allows the production of 10,000 portions per day. From 2024, the kitchen factory in Bucha supplies food to 16 schools in the Bucha community. In addition, the kitchen factory can provide food to internally displaced persons and local residents.
The kitchen factory project was implemented due to the financial support of American businessman and philanthropist Howard Buffett. His foundation, The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, financed the construction of the facility and its first year of operation.
The kitchen factory in Bucha is a pilot project that will be extended to other regions. In particular, the second such enterprise is being constructed in Lozova, the Kharkiv region.
